In Antarctica, Irishman William Maunsell and American Ashley Paulson won the men's and women's events of the Great World Race, setting new marathon records. Maunsell completed the race in 2 hours, 38 minutes, and 42 seconds, while Paulson finished in 3 hours, 18 minutes, and 2 seconds.
