💨 Abstract

Archaeologists in Peru have discovered evidence of a woman ruling in a coastal valley during the ancient Moche culture over 1,300 years ago, possibly a ruler. They found a stone throne with unique wall paintings showing a powerful woman intertwined with sea creatures and a crescent moon. The room, adorned with mythological scenes, is believed to date from the 7th century AD and is compared to the Sistine Chapel.
