💨 Abstract
A boat carrying mostly women and children returning from a religious festival in Nigeria's Niger state capsized, killing at least 60 people. The incident occurred on the River Niger near Gbajibo Community. About 160 people have been rescued, and rescue operations are ongoing. Overcrowding and poor maintenance are believed to be the main causes of boat accidents in Nigerian waterways.
