💨 Abstract
Finland plans to increase the upper age limit for army reservists to 65, adding 125,000 troops to its wartime strength and reaching one million reservists by 2031. Compulsory military service for men currently extends to age 60. The proposal aims to bolster Finland's defense capabilities, which are reliant on general conscription and a trained reserve. Following public comment, the proposal will be debated and voted on by parliament.
