Guinea's Supreme Court validated the election results, confirming coup leader Mamady Doumbouya's landslide victory with 86.72% of the vote. The second-place finisher, Abdoulaye Yero Balde, withdrew his legal challenge. Doumbouya, who seized power in 2021, will serve a seven-year term. The U.S. embassy congratulated him and expressed interest in strengthening ties.
