💨 Abstract
Student leader Sharif Osman Hadi was killed due to "political vengeance" by the Awami League, Bangladesh police said. Hadi, who criticized the Awami League and its student wing Chhatra League, was shot during an election campaign. Police charged 17 people, including Chhatra League members, and arrested 12. Hadi gained prominence during protests that led to the fall of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina's government.
