💨 Abstract
South Korean author Han Kang, winner of the 2022 Nobel Prize in Literature, received global recognition nine years after her acclaimed novel "The Vegetarian" was translated into English. The book, which won the 2016 Man Booker International prize, had limited sales in South Korea due to a low literature readership and a struggling publishing industry. Kang's literary works, including poetry and short stories, became popular following the Nobel announcement.
