đź’¨ Abstract
Nigeria is experiencing one of its worst hunger crises with over 30 million people projected to be food insecure by next year, a 33% increase from this year. The increase is due to economic hardship, high inflation, and rising food and transportation costs. The joint report by the Nigerian government and the United Nations highlights that flooding and insecurity in northern states have also significantly impacted agriculture, driving up food prices and causing potential crop losses of over $1 billion.
