💨 Abstract
The Human Rights Commission of Pakistan (HRCP) has expressed concern over Pakistan's deteriorating human rights situation and growing threats to democracy. The commission strongly opposes a proposed amendment to the Anti-Terrorism Act, which would grant armed forces and paramilitary forces the power to detain individuals without trial. HRCP urges the government to prioritize the rule of law, address violence against vulnerable groups, and ensure equitable access to healthcare and education.
