đź’¨ Abstract
Russia's top general, Valery Gerasimov, has ordered troops to create buffer zones in Ukraine's Sumy and Kharkiv regions to protect Russian civilians. Gerasimov claims Russian forces have taken control of around 950 square kilometers, including 32 settlements. Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskiy has condemned these efforts, calling them "mad" and vowing resistance.
