Two undersea fibre-optic communication cables in the Baltic Sea, one connecting Finland and Germany, were severed, raising suspicions of sabotage. The affected cables included one linking Finland to Germany and another between Lithuania and Sweden. Finland and Germany expressed concern and are investigating. The damage to the cables occurred near commercial shipping routes and could take up to 15 days to repair.
