A U.S. citizen, identified as Air Force veteran Joe St. Clair, was released from Venezuela and handed over to U.S. envoy Richard Grenell in Antigua. This was confirmed by Venezuela's Information Minister Freddy Nazareth Nanez. Grenell had traveled to negotiate the release and also offered to extend a license for Chevron to operate in Venezuela.
