A federal judge ordered Brian Cole, accused of planting pipe bombs near the U.S. Capitol on January 6, 2021, to remain in custody. Cole, 30, faces explosives-related charges and allegedly confessed to planting the bombs, believing the 2020 election was tampered with. The bombs were discovered as a mob of Trump supporters stormed the Capitol, diverting police resources. Cole has not yet entered a plea.
