💨 Abstract
Researchers have developed a compact electronic nose capable of identifying odors within milliseconds, matching and sometimes exceeding the speed of mammals. This artificial sense of smell could be used in robots to detect wildfires, find survivors after disasters, or locate truffles. The device uses high-end electronics and custom-designed algorithms to identify odors quickly and accurately, even in turbulent air.
