💨 Abstract
A Cape Town man, Eric Victor du Preez, was sentenced to 12 months in prison after admitting to fraudulently posing as an SPCA inspector. He falsified credentials, including NSPCA training and SAVC registration, to secure a job. Investigations revealed his documents were forged. Du Preez pleaded guilty to 32 counts, including fraud and forgery. Authorities warned that such impersonations threaten animal welfare and public trust.
