đź’¨ Abstract
South Africa's government has reaffirmed its commitment to vulture conservation due to severe population declines over the past three decades. Recent mass poisoning incidents have highlighted the urgency of the issue. Vultures play a crucial role in maintaining environmental health, and their decline can lead to disease outbreaks and other public health issues. The government has launched the National Multi-Species Vulture Biodiversity Management Plan and is participating in regional conservation efforts, including the SADC Vulture Conservation Strategy and Action Plan.
