💨 Abstract
As World Shark Day approaches on July 14, a significant marine research initiative has been launched in False Bay to protect and study sharks, rays, and skates. Led by the Two Oceans Aquarium Foundation, in partnership with Shark Spotters, SAIAB, and SANParks, the project uses acoustic telemetry technology to track these species within Marine Protected Areas. The team has already tagged 29 animals, including various shark and ray species.
