💨 Abstract
South Africa has welcomed a new vehicle factory in the Dube TradePort Special Economic Zone, KwaZulu-Natal. Owned by Mahindra South Africa, the factory aims to boost local production of the Pik Up bakkie, with a current capacity of over 1,000 units per month. The facility is designed to meet future growth and offers flexibility for new models. Mahindra is also focusing on local supplier partnerships to increase part localization and job creation.
