💨 Abstract
Late photographer, Rashid Lombard, died at 74. Sport and Culture Minister Gayton McKenzie and President Cyril Ramaphosa praised his work in documenting South Africa's history. He covered key events of the liberation struggle in the 1980s, Notable photographs include Nelson Mandela's release in 1990, and the first democratic election in 1994. Following his photography career, he directed the Cape Town International Jazz Festival.
