💨 Abstract
South African coffee drinkers might find better deals due to global market changes. Agricultural economist Wandile Sihlobo predicts that South Africa could benefit from increased coffee imports from Brazil, driven by poor weather conditions and new tariffs affecting global coffee prices. Brazil, the world’s largest coffee producer, may boost exports to South Africa if it offers competitive prices and quality. This shift could impact domestic tea and coffee producers but meets the growing South African demand for imported coffee.
