đź’¨ Abstract
In South Africa, R500 in 2015 could fill a trolley with groceries, but by 2025, it barely fills a shopping basket. Inflation has eroded purchasing power, with essential items like cooking oil and eggs doubling or tripling in cost. R500 now lacks about R200 to buy the same items as in 2015, highlighting the severe impact on household budgets.
