💨 Abstract

The fast-food industry in South Africa, valued at R177 billion annually, is dominated by brands like McDonald’s and KFC, which have the highest online presence. Approximately 5,982 fast-food restaurants cater to nearly 80% of the food service sector. Despite challenges posed by tariffs, local brands might capitalize on emerging opportunities. Consumers, both in lower and higher income brackets, allocate significant portions of their budgets to fast food.
