💨 Abstract

Intermittent fasting, including skipping breakfast, does not impair cognitive function in healthy adults, according to a study published by the American Psychological Association. Researchers analyzed 71 studies involving 3,484 participants and found that short-term fasting (up to 12 hours) does not significantly affect memory, decision-making, or reaction time. However, longer fasts and fasting in children may have adverse effects.
