💨 Abstract
The Democratic Alliance (DA) in Gauteng has urged the Johannesburg Zoo to release three elephants—Lammie, Mopane, and Ramadiba—into a wildlife sanctuary, despite a court ruling allowing them to remain in captivity. The DA and animal activists argue that the elephants are experiencing psychological distress and should be rewilded. The zoo maintains that the elephants are well-cared for.
