💨 Abstract
Durban is experiencing a strong festive season with an estimated R6 billion injected into its economy by tourists. Since December 1, the city has seen 490,152 visitors, with hotel occupancy at 70% and a direct visitor spend of R1.8 billion. Signature events have attracted 83,000 attendees, with more expected. Beach attendance has surged, with over 873,000 visitors since December 1.
