💨 Abstract
Minister of Sport, Arts, and Culture Gayton McKenzie called for South Africans to unite and celebrate the Day of Reconciliation together, following the Afrikaner community's commemoration of Geloftedag, or the Day of the Vow. He attended the event at the Voortrekker Monument in Pretoria and urged for a single national celebration on December 16th, which marks both the Battle of Blood River and the Day of Reconciliation.
