In South Africa scammers use AI to mimic Springbok captain Siya Kolisi in an attempt to lure followers into an investment scam. The video, posted on X, features a a subtle Nigerian accent and promises high returns. This is not the first scandal involving a Springbok personality: in 2019, the SA Rugby already warned for scams trying to hijack Rassie Erasmus’ image. Siya Kolisi has not responded.
