💨 Abstract

Thousands of white South African expats are returning home, defying narratives of "white genocide" and "racial persecution." Factors driving this "reverse immigration" include lower living costs, family ties, and global instability. In 2022, nearly 15,000 white South Africans returned, and since then, there has been a surge in interest from expats abroad.
