The number of teenage mothers giving birth on Christmas Day in South Africa increased from 90 in 2024 to 130 in 2025, raising concerns about adolescent pregnancy. The National Department of Health reported 1,668 births nationwide on Christmas Day, with Gauteng recording the highest number.
