đ¨ Abstract
The driving license backlog in South Africa has significantly reduced from 800,000 to 200,000 due to intensive efforts by the Department of Transport. The DoT is also setting up a backup printing system to prevent future delays and is proceeding with a tender for a new card printing system, despite previous irregularities. Motorists can expect faster processing times as the worst of the backlog seems to be over.
