A Mpumalanga company, Uptown Superstore, was fined R600,000 for selling counterfeit cigarettes and charged to buy 504 school desks, avoiding jail. The owners, Riaz, Fatima, and Suliman Moolla, faced separate arrests. The company was sentenced for violating the Tobacco Products, Customs and Excise, and VAT Acts. The Hawks praised the sentence, highlighting the community benefit.
