💨 Abstract
The South African Police Service (SAPS) received over 1 million applications for just 5,500 trainee positions, highlighting high unemployment and demand for public sector jobs. The rigorous selection process includes psychometric tests, fitness assessments, vetting, and medical exams. Priority is given to graduates with NQF Level 6 qualifications or higher and valid driver’s licenses. Training for successful recruits is set to begin in 2026.
