💨 Abstract

South Africa's MeerKAT telescope has detected a radio signal from Beta Pictoris, an exoplanet 63 light-years away. This young gas giant, roughly 10 times the mass of Jupiter, emitted rapid, circular radio bursts. The signal, observed four times this year, helped measure the planet's magnetic field, found to be 2,500 times stronger than Earth's.
