💨 Abstract
Navi Pillay, born in apartheid-era Durban, has won the 2026 Nobel Peace Prize for her efforts in promoting peace and international law. She began her career representing anti-apartheid activists and later contributed to South Africa's constitution. Pillay's international work includes serving on the International Criminal Tribunal for Rwanda and the International Criminal Court. She also headed a UN commission that accused Israel of genocide in Gaza.
