💨 Abstract
The South African government has defended Black Economic Empowerment (BEE) as a key policy for economic transformation, countering the Democratic Alliance’s (DA) campaign against it. The government argues BEE addresses apartheid-era injustices and promotes inclusive growth, while the DA claims it benefits ANC elites and fails to help ordinary citizens. The DA proposes an alternative, race-neutral "Economic Inclusion for All Bill," aiming to create jobs and fight poverty.
