💨 Abstract

More than one million South Africans live abroad, with the UK, Australia, and the USA being the top destinations. The UK hosts the largest South African community, followed by Australia and the USA. South Africans are attracted to these countries due to established migrant communities, strong job markets, and familiar cultural environments. The USA is seeing the fastest growth in South African residents, with 3,535 obtaining residency in 2022.
