💨 Abstract
In July, KwaZulu-Natal police made nearly 13,000 arrests and seized 610 dangerous weapons, including knives and machetes. This comes amid allegations of corruption and political interference. An inquiry into these issues commenced in August, chaired by Acting Deputy Chief Justice Mbuyiseli Madlanga. Police Minister Senzo Mchunu was placed on special leave following these revelations.
