💨 Abstract

Escalating Middle East conflicts have driven oil prices above $115 per barrel, raising global inflation and fuel affordability concerns. South Africa, heavily reliant on imported fuel, faces potential significant fuel price hikes in April due to these global trends and a weak rand. The Central Energy Fund projects substantial increases for petrol and diesel, with petrol 93 octane expected to rise by 468 cents per litre and diesel by up to 864 cents per litre.
