💨 Abstract
Police Minister Senzo Mchunu has called for immediate and intensified action in response to a surge in mass killings in the Western Cape. Over the past week, 13 people have been killed in separate incidents, including a shootout and an ambush. The minister has urged the police to deploy all available resources and has launched Operation Shanela 2 to tackle murder, illegal firearms, drug trafficking, and gender-based violence.
