💨 Abstract

Following a viral video, a Newclare mother and three others face attempted murder and child abuse charges after encouraging a three-year-old to use drugs. The case, adjourned to 4 August, has sparked public outrage and led authorities to remove the child and investigate. Authorities are also probing delayed responses by some officers to this case. Meanwhile, the Gauteng Social Development is committed to intervening and supporting the child.
