💨 Abstract

Mozambique faces worsening floods due to heavy rains, with a red alert issued for central and southern regions. The National Institute of Meteorology (INAM) warns of extreme rainfall, thunderstorms, and strong winds, exacerbating already flooded areas. Districts in Manica, Sofala, Inhambane, Gaza, and Maputo are affected. Authorities are evacuating low-lying areas, with at least 94 deaths since October.
