💨 Abstract
A new species of rain frog, the Boston Rain Frog (Breviceps batrachophiliorum), was discovered in South Africa. Known for its distinctive "grumpy" appearance, this frog was found near Boston in the KwaZulu-Natal midlands. Its unique call and physical features, including a visible eardrum and differently positioned mouth, distinguish it from related species. The discovery was confirmed through genetic testing and morphological comparisons.
