💨 Abstract

A 20-year-old Law Enforcement Advancement Programme (LEAP) officer in Cape Town was killed after being struck by a drunk driver while assisting at a crash scene on Jakes Gerwel Drive. The incident occurred in the early hours of Sunday. The driver, who was under the influence of alcohol, has been detained. The City of Cape Town expressed condolences to the officer's family and colleagues, emphasizing the dangers faced by first responders.
