💨 Abstract
Former Finance Minister Malusi Gigaba has been added as the fifth accused in a Transnet corruption case. The charges involve the irregular acquisition of locomotives between 2010 and 2014, causing billions in losses. Gigaba is accused of accepting corrupt payments from the Gupta family. The case, involving several former Transnet executives, has been postponed to January 2026 for further proceedings.
