💨 Abstract
Advocate Andrew Chauke, the suspended South Gauteng Director of Public Prosecutions, will face an inquiry into his fitness to hold office. Chauke has been on suspension since July 2025, with full pay, due to allegations including stalling corruption prosecutions and interfering with high-profile cases. The inquiry, established by President Cyril Ramaphosa, will be chaired by retired justice Baaitse Nkabinde and two other legal professionals.
