💨 Abstract

A second fire has struck the Bossiesgif Informal Settlement in Plettenberg Bay less than a week after the previous one. While the exact number of destroyed shacks is still being verified, there were no injuries or fatalities reported. This latest fire affected a different area of the settlement. The municipality and Gift of the Givers are supporting affected residents. The fires highlight risks posed by open flames in informal settlements, prompting the municipality to explore long-term safety solutions.
