💨 Abstract
On September 21, 2025, a deep partial solar eclipse will occur, blocking up to 86% of the sun. Unfortunately, it won't be visible in South Africa. The best views will be from southern New Zealand, Antarctica, and scattered South Pacific islands. South Africans can still follow the event through livestreams. The eclipse falls just before the September equinox, marking the shift into spring in the Southern Hemisphere.
