💨 Abstract
On October 6, 2025, South Africa will experience the first Supermoon of the year, known as the Harvest Moon. It will rise just after sunset, appearing larger and brighter than usual. The full phase occurs at 5:48 am on October 7. This phenomenon happens when the full moon coincides with its closest approach to Earth, making it up to 14% larger and 30% brighter.
