💨 Abstract

The Thabo Mbeki Foundation and three other prominent foundations withdrew from South Africa's National Dialogue due to concerns over transparency and preparedness. Key issues included uncertainty regarding the R700 million budget, lack of an approved budget allocation, and internal disagreements within the preparatory team. They proposed delaying the convention until after October 2025 for better coordination. Despite this, the convention is scheduled to proceed as planned by President Cyril Ramaphosa.
