💨 Abstract
A Czech airline, Smartwings, completed a rare and complex flight to Antarctica using a Boeing 737 MAX 8. The aircraft departed Cape Town, delivering Norwegian researchers and supplies to the Troll Research Station. The mission required precise meteorological conditions and showcased the aircraft's ability to land on an ice runway. This was Smartwings' 20th such mission, highlighting their expertise in Antarctic operations.
